Welcome to our apartment, I’m beyond excited to host you!
I joined the hosting community in the summer 2021. I'm still in a
learning process so don’t hesitate to give me feedback, good or bad. In the past few years, I
have had good memories renting while travelling myself, and now I’m happy to give others
the same possibilities to explore our city Tromsø. I like the fact
that you can give and get reviews, that gives both the customers and guests a better chance
for a better experience and make the most of their stay.

Inside this manual, you’ll find lots of useful information that I've compiled to help my guests.

From instructions on how to use the appliances to recommendations for nearby restaurants
and shopping areas, I've got it all covered.

CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT TIMES

Check-in is from 5:00 pm and check-out is until 11:00 am. I would really appreciate it if you
could stick to these times.

HOUSE RULES

I kindly ask you to read the house rules carefully and keep them in mind during your stay.
No parties or events allowed.
No smoking inside.
No pets allowed, unless agreed on forehand.
Don’t use studded shoes inside, take them off outside. Don’t walk on the tiles in the entrance with them, they will leave marks.
No unregistered guests allowed in the house.
Please use the kitchen area for eating.
Quiet after 11.00 pm. It’s a lot of families with small children in the neighbourhood.
Please leave the heating on when you leave.
Put the dishes in the dishwasher when you check out.
Leave the kitchen tidy when you check out.
Empty your trash before you leave and put it in the correct garbage bins.
No illegal drugs allowed in the house.
Please remove your bed linen and place it in the bathroom when leaving.
Please read/google the instruction manuals for the electric articles if you’re unsure on how to use them.
Use baking paper in the stove while cooking.

HOW TO USE APPLIANCES

Heating

There’s several heaters in the apartment. There's electric heaters in the bedrooms . Desired temperature can be chosen on the panels. There's also floor heater in the bathroom, you'll find a control unit for it on the bathroom wall. Outside the bathroom you will also a panel controlling the air circulation for the apartments, here you can select both the airflow and temperature. There's in addition a heater in the livingroom.

Washer & dryer

There's a washer and dryer for use in the bathroom. The one on top is the dryer, and then lower one is the washer.

If the dryer is not working correctly ensure the filter inside the drum is cleaned and the water tank is empty. Don't ever put washing detergent inside the dryers filter.

TV

Turn on the TV with the remote. Ensure that HDMI is selected by pressing the input button
on the remote.

Garbage

See the check-in manual for the locations of the different bins.
Remember to use correct plastic bags for recycling waste correctly.

LOCAL TRANSPORT INFORMATION

The apartment is located in the middle of the city centre. There's several attractions to choose
from, Polaria Aquarium, Northern Norway Art Museum, Polar Museum.

It's also a 20-30 minute walk to Telegrafbukta. This is a good spot with sea view to watch the northern
lights. However, many people like to go outside the city to avoid the light pollution from
the city itself. Please see our arranged tours with our trusted partners here.

If you want to take the cable car called “Fjellheisen” you’ll need to cross the bridge that
would take 15 minutes walk. It offers you a stunning view over the Tromsø Island. In the
summer it's also possible to hike and use Sherpa stone stairs that’s covered most of the way
up. In the winter it’s best to use the cable car.

However, if you’d like to venture a bit farther, I recommend using the local public transport
system to reach outside the city. You can pay your fare and check schedules with “Svipper”
application. Google maps is a good good to check schedules.

SIGHTS TO SEE AND THINGS TO DO

Tromsø has many well-known tourist attractions - from the cable car Fjellheisen, Polar
Museum, Ishavskatedralen Church, Ersfjorden, Botanical Garden, Prestvannet, Tromsø
Domkirke - but it also has a surprising variety of hidden gems.

Maybe you want to do explore the nature and do some dogsledding at Tromsø
Villmarkssenter.

Tromsø friluftssenter also offers some trips. I suggest you check trip
advisor and use google to explore the possibilities.

My favorite restaurant in centrum is T-tapas. It offers nice tapas mainly grilled on a “josper
charcoal grill”. If you want perfect start on the day there is a nice café with really good
coffee called Risø kaffebar located in the street of Strandgata.

If shopping is your jam, I recommend checking out the Jekta and K1 shopping center near
the airport. There's also a Nerstranda shopping center closer to the house, in Tromsø
centrum.

Should you encounter any sort of emergency during your stay, please contact the local
authorities immediately.

The fire extinguisher is located in the entrance drawer. If the fire alarm is anyhow activated you
have to leave the apartment and gather outside the entrance.

When everything is under control the fire alarm will be reset and stopped. It's now safe to enter the apartment again.

In case of water leakage there is a main stopcock for the water inside the bathroom in the roof.

Contact the host immediately.

In case of any problems with electricity the fuse box is inside the apartment in the entrance.

FAQ – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The cooking hob suddenly stopped working?

Above the cooking hob there is a small white box that detects hot temperatures. If it’s to hot it
activates and cut power. Push the white button for 3-4 seconds to reset it. The cooking should
now work again.

The Adax panel heaters is not functioning correctly?

We have many different guests that might enter and by accident enabling night setting or power-saver settings. To fix this please try the steps below.

Resetting the Adax panel heater if the heater is not heating or temperature is low:

✅ Quick reset (recommended)

Use this in most cases (e.g. after a power cut or previous guest has entered wrong settings):

Make sure the heater is plugged in
Turn the heater on
Turn the control knob so the symbol with two arrows facing each other (22°) points toward the light symbol
Press and hold the knob for 1 second
When the green light flashes, the heater is reset
Set your desired temperature

👉 The heater now works normally.

or

⚠️ Factory reset (only if necessary)

This will erase all programs and settings:

Turn the knob to the hand symbol → press to confirm
Turn the knob to 11°
Press the knob twice (hold 1 second each time)
– green and red lights will flash
Press and hold for 3 seconds until the green light flashes

Then perform the Quick reset above

Tips:

If unsure, only do the Quick reset
Avoid changing programs or entering advanced settings

We got a bill with road tolls for the car after we got home?

In Tromsø there are road tolls. In the rush periods 0630-0900 and 1500-1700 Monday-Friday
there is rush period tolls. In the weekends the rates are standard. On the Norwegian public
holidays, it is also standard rates. You can travel the zones for one hour after a passing.

For a standard car:
Rush period: 36 NOK
Outside rush period: 12 NOK.
